Designed by Caroline Grieco for Devino Architect + Associates. The family owned and operated business in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City desired to expand and renovate their existing office space above their historic warehouse. The client requested a combination of private offices with transparent enclosures, expansive open office areas to facilitate communication, and spaces that create opportunities for formal and informal meetings. In collaboration with GI Design Studio, a modern industrial design concept was developed and comprehensively applied throughout the architectural and interior renovation. Appropriate references in the design recognize the company's roots and history of the city warehouse, an old piano factory, while the integration of new technologies, modern comforts and contemporary materials look forward to future generations.
